Here in the UK, we have been brought up on somewhat of a stiff upper lip culture. There is a general attitude against talking about our feelings and being in touch with our emotions. This is especially so if you are a man. The culture is one where, as a man, talking about your feelings is something that is simply not considered manly, it is impressed upon men that it is not attractive. In the more extreme cases, it is believed to be a sign of weakness, though thankfully these are rare. This general sense of personal oppression bleeds over to sex, the old phrase “no sex please, we are British” is one that whilst it no longer holds dominance, has still, unfortunately, left its mark.
No sex please, we are British
Traditionally we don’t like talking about sex, there is a general feeling that having sex is something that is a bit naughty, and we are taught that woman don’t want to have sex, that it is the man’s responsibility to trick, cajole and seduce the woman into performing an act that she has no interest in. Having a fuck buddy is something that should never even be considered, even a having a hook up was considered poor form. This is all so incorrect!
We should be more open about sex. We should talk about it more, and we should all have more of it. If we all had fuck buddies, the world would be a happier place. The first place to fix this is to re-educate ourselves and change how we think about these things, and that includes masturbation.
Masturbation is good for you
As part of the stiff upper lip stuff, we were told that masturbation was bad for you, that it was “wrong” in some way. This was all nonsense. Masturbation can actually be a really healthy thing. The only way to have great sex is to first learn to come in the way that you enjoy coming. You can’t have a good time with your fuck buddy unless you know how to have a good time by yourself.
You can also use the opportunity to learn when you are about to come so that you can exercise better control to extend your own orgasm. It is a great way of relieving stress, and can cause a large number of “happy hormones” to be released into your body to help combat any depression or feeling of being down that may creep up on you. The happier you are, the more attractive you are, the more likely you are to find a fuck buddy, so it can also help you get sex as well as enjoy it more!
As a general rule, masturbation is good for you. This is of course situational and will depend on your circumstances, but I would heartily encourage you to remove any bad feeling at all when you do it. There is nothing wrong with it, it really is healthy.
