Someone asked me recently what the point of strip clubs are? I couldn’t actually answer for a good five minutes. It seemed stupid to say ‘you get to look at naked women’, but that really is the point of strip clubs. You go there to look at naked women. Not just any naked women mind you. Strippers are usually very tones and fit. They have to be to do their job. So then my friend asked me their next question: what’s the value of strip clubs? You pay a lot to get in, and then even more to get a lap dance. What’s the point? You can’t touch any of the strippers, and sex is so far removed as a possibility that the whole thing comes off as a giant tease. But that’s what stripping is; a tease. There is value to that, especially if you’re a guy.
The True Value of Strip Clubs
1. They’re essentially harmless
I’d rather be a guy ogling naked ladies in a safe environment than a guy ogling partially naked ladies on the beach and trying not to be caught. Stripping is the fantasy where you don’t have to feel embarrassed for looking.
2. You don’t have to get embarrassed
See the above point.
3. It’s fun
I know that sounds weird, but going to a strip club can be a lot of fun. Why do you think so many stag dos and hen dos hire strippers or go to strip clubs? It’s a bit of harmless fun.
4. The girls are well looked after
A good strip club really looks after the staff. The bouncers are there for a reason: to protect the strippers from any wondering hands or potential problems.
5. The girls get paid a lot
A woman can earn more money in 1 night of stripping than she can from an entire month of working in an office or a shop.
6. It’s not exploitative
There are male and female strip clubs and strippers. The people who work there choose to work there. They do it for quick easy cash, to support study or as a career. I don’t think it’s appropriate to judge people’s motives for choosing this as a job.
7. Like any tease it can work as an aphrodisiac
Many couples frequent strip clubs. There’s a reason for that: it can greatly aid peoples’ sex lives.
Don’t write off strip clubs until you’ve tried them. They are not to everyone’s taste, but that doesn’t mean they have no value.
